The White Stripes Announce Their Break-Up

To all you hardcore White Stripes fans like me, I'm distressed to tell you that the famous duo band have announced that they have split up due to "myriad reasons". I read the news on Jack White's Third Man Record Website where it stated the following, "The reason is not due to artistic differences or lack of wanting to continue, nor any health issues as both Meg and Jack are feeling fine and in good health. It is for a myriad of reasons, but mostly to preserve what is beautiful and special about the band and have it stay that way."

Really Jack and Meg? Myriad reasons? That's what you leave us with? I would've been happier if they  gave us at least one reason from their myriad list because it's kind of a shitty thing to do to your fans, but nonetheless, I'm more sad than I am angry. I only had a chance to see them perform once in my lifetime and I was looking forward to the next White Stripes record that Jack announced last year, but it looks like that won't be happening. And even Jack is already in two other bands (The Dead Weather, The Raconteurs), he doesn't have the same chemistry with drummer Meg White. *Sigh*, what are you gonna do? It's their choice, and by all means I wish them the best, but god damn it this sucks.

The White Stripes were most famous for their hit single "Seven Nation Army" from their album Elephant, But I decided to post my personal favorite White Stripes song that is also from the album Elephant. R.I.P White Stripes.

  5. they had a few good songs, but i don't know how many more hits they could have made. seven nation army might have been a shot to the foot as far as not being able to come up with anything as catchy.
