Game of The Month: January

It's a new year guys and the big games have started infiltrating one by one. We're set to see some pretty awesome titles in the month of February, but I thought it would be cool to share my personal favorite games for each of the 3 major consoles(PS3, Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii) in the month of January.

PS3
LittleBigPlanet 2

LittleBigPlanet 2 isn't just a well polished platform game, it's a cunning blast of epicness that allows you to create and play like no other game in the world. Although it presents itself in the same manner as the first game, Media Molecule throws in some remarkable gadgets such as the grappling hook, grabinators, creatinators and bounce pads that give the game a nice touch. And with all those gadgets, it opens up a lot of doors for your mind when creating a level, which I find much easier to do than the first one. This is surely a game that is NOT to be missed. Well done MM.

Xbox 360
Dead Space 2

It's considered to be the game your mother will hate, with good reason too.  Dead Space 2 is packed with rollicking buckets of blood that will have you playing the game over and over again. It takes everything we loved about the first game and adds in some improvements, and what we get is a "shit in your pants" quest x10. Although it's much shorter than the original, the multiplayer is good enough to have you playing it for hours. But the campaign is so awesome it's almost impossible to not want to play it again. I've beaten it 3 times, and still get a kick out of it.

Nintendo Wii
Lost in Shadow

It's been a very depressing month for the Wii really, and the only game that's worth taking a look at is Lost in Shadow. It has a clever concept in which you are a shadow and can only interact with other shadows cast by objects. There are some shortcomings in this game but it's the only major game for the Wii as of this moment. Hopefully February will be a turnaround for them.

Now I'm not a huge fan of PC games, nor do I play the DS or PSP(although I'm looking forward to the PSP2) so I can't give you my opinions on my favorite games for those platforms, but I would love to hear some of your favorite games of this month for any platform you desire, I'll be glad to see other perspectives thus far.
